Hi Group,

Figured out why I couldn't compile my module with FORGE...
Not a full copy! Ha.

OK- the real question is are people using an HTML editor, saving the layouts, and perhaps have some tricks to speed up the formatting process.

Any suggestions?

I would also like to see some unlocked editable modules posted perhaps from Brandon -- ESPECIALLY the harmonies section which has hyperlinks and a table... Come on, everything can't be a secret, what is this AREA 51?? Just kidding. I could really use a format such as this!

I'm having fun. Please reply about the HTML editor as a sample I downloaded was able to save as ASCII text but it was way to feature bloated, but then I need to go back in and change also the verse references to plain text -- am I reading the FORGE documentation right?
I need to save the body of the text as ASCII and the verses as plain test?? So there have to be some tricks to speed up the process...more than just find/replace!

Are you sure you need Forge? You can create a user book right inside SwordSearcher and get a WYSIWYG editor. You could even use the editor in SwordSearcher to simply paste in text from other sources. No need to learn how to use the import format in Forge at all.

That being said: Forge presumes knowledge of HTML code. Each entry in a Forge import file is a discreet HTML document. If you want to learn how to create HTML code, you might start here: http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp

But I highly recommend simply using the built-in editor in SwordSearcher rather than using Forge.

See if Notetab light is useful. It has built in html boilerplate. http://download.cnet.com/NoteTab-Lig...-10008280.html

Also, you can download a module from my module site and then export it and look at the exported file to see what the forge input should look like. Most of the modules are not protected. Here's the site URL:

I've always preferred EditPadLite.

I've done it both ways (for personal files).

The editor in SS is better in most every way for the "casual" mod maker.
