Will png files work? What is wrong with the link the way I have it? It should be in dark red below. Do I have the file in the right sub-folder of image under swordsearcher user modules?

Thanks,
Regie

Imagine your postman ringing your doorbell and asking you to sign for a certified letter from the President of the United States. You sign, take the letter and nervously open the envelope. It really is a <span style="letter-spacing: 0.6pt">personal letter from the President to you. Now escalate the </span>situation far beyond a letter from the leader of the country.</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt">&nbsp;</span></font></p><a href="swordsearcher://image/LocationofPatmos.png">Location of Patmos</a>
<p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt"><font face="Verdana"></font></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><font face="Verdana"><span class="characterstyle5"><span style="font-size: 12pt; letter-spacing: 0.15pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt">&nbsp;&nbsp; When John&rsquo;s courier arrives at each of the churches addressed </span></span><span class="characterstyle5"><span style="font-size: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt">in the book, he announces in these verses that he will read a letter that came from John.

I don't think png files work with the SS image viewer. You can convert the png to jpg or you can use the tag, <img src="...\LocationofPatmos.png\"> where ... is the fully qualified file location.

PNG images do work -- all of the official included images are png files.

Your images folder should be "images" not "image" -- try making that change and let me know what happens.

Sorry for the bad advice. I looked in my directory and noted that most of the files were jpg. I should have looked in the official directories. Jumped to a bad conclusion. (embarrased) I was actually thinking of gif files in the back of my mind. I don't think they work.

Hello,

People who don't make mistakes are dead. :) Your trying to help us is of much value and is appreciated by me. I'll let you off and I bet Brandon will too and all the other people will that you have helped.

I've retried this about every way I can think of and according to the answer that Brandon gave I have done it like this:

Now escalate the </span>situation far beyond a letter from the leader of the country.</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt">&nbsp;</span></font></p>
<a href="swordsearcher://Images/Holder/LocationofPatmos.png">Location of Patmos</a>

Do either of you (or anyone else) see anything wrong I did? Everything else that had pictures has a sub-folder under Images. After trying it with the LocationofPatmos.png file directly under Images I decided to add the sub-folder of Holder.

Thanks much for the help of all.

Here's a link to a png file that works for me

<a href="swordsearcher://image/MyImages/feasts.png">feasts</a>

I think you are confusing the "image" keyword with the images subdirectory. You do not specify the images subdirectory, only the subdirectory within the images subdirectory. So, MyImages is a subdirectory of the images subdirectory.

It did work by making it Images instead of Image. It wouldn't work at all but when I took the program down and brought it back up again - zap - it worked. That thought never occurred to me.

Anyway, thanks for the help from both of you.

Just for clarity, the SwordSearcher URL protocol is indeed

swordsearcher://image

I'm sorry if I was confusing by pointing out that the images are stored in the "Images folder" -- the folder on disk is in

[Program Files]\SwordSearcher 5\Images

Finally, just for your information in case you are unaware, there is an easy way to insert an image link without having to worry about the URL protocol and editing the HTML. Open the editor and place the typing carat where you want the link, and then use the Image Viewer (in the main SwordSearcher menu: Images > Open Image Viewer). Find the image you want to link to and then right-click it and select "Send Image Link to Editor."

I hope this helps clarify things. :)

WOW! What a tip! That is at least 45 times less of a headache than the other way.

Thanks very much. Poor English - but you ain't nothing but sharp. :)

Hi, Regie

Who wrote that, was it you? It's a good one. (I just want to give credit; I'm going to save it in a doc of my favorite quotations...)

Thanks
