pop up previews

Is there or could there be an option to turn off pop up previews globally. Perhaps a toggle button on a main tool bar or for each window.

When using SS for teaching, the pop ups can be distracting when using the mouse as a pointer to explain something. In that case it would be better to click on links rather than having them pop up.

In the editor there are several options for inserting a link. It would be useful to have another link that would just pop up custom text when the user hovered over it (without having to create a new topic.) The popup text could be stored in the html of the current entry. There would not necessarily be any "goto" action.

An example would be creation of a list of fill in the blank questions. When someone hovered over the blank, a hint or an answer could be shown.
