Study click does not work with hyphenated words like you-ward but F2 search does.

It's the way word boundaries in the text display control are determined (you'll find the same behavior if you double-click one of the words -- only one portion on a side of the hyphen will be highlighted).

I highlighted both portions of the word and then ctrl clicked. That didn't work, but searching with f2 for you-ward did.
