User created module on Windows 11 Tablet

So, I am new to Swordsearcher and even newer to posting here on the blog so forgive me if this question has been answered already. I originally downloaded Swordsearcher on my windows 11 laptop and it runs great. I am really enjoying the user created book and commentary's and how they incorporate into the search features. I like to keep everything mobile as I can since I have kids. Anyway, I was in need for a tablet to take notes digitally via stylus, and I thought that since there was not an app version of Swordsearcher I would look into getting a windows tablet.

Fast forward to today and I have bought a windows 11 tablet and installed swordsearcher onto it with no problem. Seemed everything was working great until I decided to copy my user created moduls over to documents/swordsearcher user modules on my tablet. Upon transfer and opening of application the modules do not show up even though the file is in the correct place. After a little troubleshooting I found that even with a fresh install of swordsearcher I cannot get user created modules to populate into my books and commentaries.

if I open the application I am able to create a new book and or commentary and do all the editing I want. Once I close the application and open it back up the module disappears. I am able to view the module by placing it into the program files but I cannot edit from there. I originally thought the files were somehow in the wrong place but that is not the case because i created a test module on my windows 11 tablet, closed and opened the application to verify it would not show up, I then went and copied the new uneditable file from my tablet documents/ swordsearcher user modules and pasted the file into the same swordsearcher folder on my Laptop and It populated into my list upon opening the application on my laptop.

Is this due to the fact I have Swordsearcher downloaded on a windows 11 tablet? doesnt make sense to me becaus the user operating system on both systems are exactly the same. Is this issue fixable so that I am able to transfer my user modules between devices, so I am able to maintain my notes across all devices?

It doesn't matter that it's a tablet.

Something on your system is sandboxing SwordSearcher and removing any changes it makes when it closes. This could be some non-Microsoft anti-virus which came with your tablet. The first thing I do when I buy a new computer device is remove the terrible anti-virus vendors add to it. The Microsoft defender anti-virus has always been enough for me and doesn't prevent me from actually using my computer. Another possibility is that the documents location is being automatically synced (OneDrive, etc) and something is going wrong with the sync.

You can open SwordSearcher and go to File, Preferences, Module File Locations to see exactly where SwordSearcher is looking for your user modules. You might try adding another folder for user module storage that you create in some other location, maybe that will work around whatever software on your tablet is undoing what SwordSearcher saves. Maybe using a location you create outside of the user documents folder would work.

Thank you so much brother! I could hug you through this computer right now I'm so excited. I've been struggling with this for a few days. Guess I should have started here smh. I for the life of me could not find the location of where it was being written to.

I guess when I restored settings from my laptop, I had no Idea it would write the file location paths to the new system and since my files are named differently between devices it was looking for the file path to my laptop and not the created one on the tablet.
