Size of text

So I was in the user made book mod "Trail of Blood." In the last year I have been diagnosed with glaucoma and, just because of aging eyes which are also impacted by diabetic issues, well, I am finding it more necessary now to increase text sizes at times.

In this particular work, using ctrl+] worked, but the increase in the Bible & Commentary panes was much more pronounced than with the Book pane.

I opened an "official" book (included with the deluxe edition) and the increase / decrease factor seemed concomitant with what was happening in the Bible & Comm panes.

So, does the increase / decrease keyboard shortcut work best only on official works vs user made books?

And if so, is there any way to fix that, so that user made modules increase in size proportionate to the Bible & Comm panes?

(I wasn't sure if I should put this question here or in the future group.)

It has to do with how that user-made text is formatted. If they specify font sizes that gets in the way of your preferred font and sizes. The "official" modules are careful not to encode explicit fonts and sizes for just this reason.

If that module is editable, you could run a style and format "cleanse" on it to remove all the hardcoded font stuff, that's on the User menu under Advanced Module Maintenance.

Is this the book module in question? "Trail of Blood" The module was done with "Style and Format Cleaner..." in mind. On my end it does fine with "Ctrl+" to increase font. When we "increase text (window)" it is global, all windows increase. Even in a cloned window I just discovered.. Something to point out, on my Lenovo LapTop it increases (touch screen) each window independently. This would be a nice "feature request".

Vey helpful Marty.

You seem to have accounted for so many issues! Praise the Lord! I do have a question, if I do this cleanse, will it opt to any defaults I have set?

It removes font formatting from the module, so that the module entries won't override your font settings in SwordSearcher.

I do suggest backing up your module first. Removing the styles and formatting is an irreversible destructive action.

Welllll... Not modules I made. Can I still back those up?

There is also a magnifier tool that is really useful for looking at small text or images on your computer. You can find it in Settings under Ease of Access.

Well aware. but not the point of the post.

Here is what I have done in this scenario. I make a (copy of a module), then rename it. Say: Module to Module_edit. Then I just play with the copy and if it does not turn out, oh well nothing lost nothing gained. Now it has to be an "editable" module to start with, you know already. This procedure helped me in a lot of ways learning what could and not coul be done.

@marty - I wish to apologize. Someone point out that this was rude, and in retrospect, I agree. I wasn't trying to be rude, but I was thoughtless and can see how this came across that way. Thank you for trying to be helpful. I do hope you will forgive me for this, I don't wish to say mistake because I think that lessons the error. I was rude and thoughtless, and in Christ, I have no excuse. I am asking the Lord to help me too.

No problem, RT, I've been using the magnifier lately and have found it very useful. Maybe someone else will be able to use it.
