Most every question Jesus asked had a deeper application and provoked thought

Here's a couple of examples

Matthew 5:13 ... If the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted?

Matthew 5:47
What do ye more than others?

Matthew 12:5
Have ye not read in the law?
There are a series of question similar to this:

and so forth.
