Implemented! Counting instances of multiple words in Bible text

I wanted to find how many times this set of words found in KJV: Fast, Fasting, Fasted. The "Search Bible" option allowed me to search on all of the words, but only reported the number of verses (not the word count). The "Full Reference Search" showed me the exact count but only allowed me...

New modules available at http://www.swordsearchermodules.net/: On the "Commentaries" page find Martin Luther's commentary on St. Paul's epistle to the Galatians. On the "Theology" page find two books by G.K. Chesterton - Orthodoxy and Heretics. If you don't know who Chesterton is, you are...

    Implemented! Spell checking

Another wish - a spell checker for the editor, along with the ability to turn it off or on. Again, not sure if it's feasible, but as long as we're throwing out wishes... --Jerry

    SwordSearcher on Amazon.com - write a review!

Yes, it is. See the following announcement by Brandon: http://forums.swordsearcher.com/viewtopic.php?t=55 (Akamai Software is now StudyLamp Software) Also, if you scroll down and read the reviews that are there you will see Brandon gave himself a 5-star review. -- Jerry

Ability to order book entries other than alphabetical

Adding to my wish list... I would love the ability to have the chapter entries for a book ordered by something other than the name. As an example, right now you have to go through contortions to make sure "Preface" shows up before "Introduction" in the dropdown list, such as adding a leading...

    SwordSearcher on Amazon.com - write a review!

Hey guys, You can purchase SwordSearcher on Amazon.com. Many people rely on the user reviews to determine whether or not to purchase a product. If SwordSearcher has been a help to you, you can return the favor by going to Amazon.com and writing a postive review. To do so, go to...

    STEP book reader

Possibly. I have looked into it, but unfortunately the STEP format is sort of dropping by the wayside. Not too many publishers are supporting it anymore, so there will likely be very little growth in this area. Since eSword has a reader, I have tried to find STEP books to download and/or...

"Old Testament History" commentary now available

Whew. After many months of work, the complete 7-volume Old Testament Bible History commentary by Alfred Edersheim is now available as a SwordSearcher book. It is available here: http://www.swordsearchermodules.net/commentaries.html The reason it is a book and not an actual SwordSearcher...

God bless you for this great program

Bible Software Review Doug (magicref) - This is awesome. Thanks for all your work on this. I had done something similar on my web page but only on a much smaller scale, and that was a ton of work. What you did is way above the call of duty. Next week I'll be referring my Sunday School...

    Renaming book chapter titles

Brandon (or anyone) - I can't figure out how to rename a chapter/entry in a book. If I create a new entry and it has a typo, I have to delete it and re-add it to fix it. Not a real big deal unless you've already entered all your text for that entry. Then you have to copy it out and paste...

    Linux Port

Well, you might want to start gathering your packing materials... http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1895,1922016,00.asp Hopefully the tools will be picked up by a competent buyer, but history is not on their side. Bummer. :( -- Jerry

    No "User Directory"

My guess is you are still using the evaluation version. I do not think the eval version has the user directory. Even with the eval version, however, you can create the user directory yourself and Swordsearcher will pick up any content placed in that directory. -- Jerry

    Linux Port

Borland Brandon, I love Delphi as well, though it has been a while. I did some work way back in Delphi 3. My enjoyment of Delphi probably stems from my college days when I learned real programming with Turbo Pascal way back in the Dos days. I probably liked it so much because my other...

Lots of User Content available in Yahoo Groups!

Brandon, I think you've done a great job in this respect. I don't think its a bad thing at all to present multiple views on a subject. (Obviously, I'm not talking about heretical viewpoints here). As I've grown up in the church and watched those around me, it is sad to see so many fall away...

    Pocket PC version?

Well two reasons, actually. First, I have four kids and we are already very cramped for space. I don't think "Hey hon, I went and bought another computer, it's an old one, and oh hey, it has its own monitor which means I'm going to need another desk, so do you really need that space for the...

    Pocket PC version?

You are right, JaeByrd, there was something special about the local BBS's. Much of the same content (downloadable files, games, discussions, etc), but much more civil, and with much more respect. Plus there was the whole "local" aspect - everyone had something in common. I remember our BBS...

    Pocket PC version?

Oh, man. I cut my programming teeth on the Vic-20, then moved up to the Commodore 64. What a machine. Then I moved up to the Commodore Amiga. All of those machines were years ahead of their time. I was playing games with stereo sound and 4096 colors while IBM users were still enamored with...

    Brandon -- Do you object?

Hey PastorTim - Just a thought. I do agree with Lance that Brandon is being very gracious. I think you should consider asking your friend to simply purchase his own copy. Not only does this support Brandon and his efforts, I think its the right thing to do and removes any and all questions...
