    Memory usage

Why? Why have RAM that doesn't get used? Why force the application to re-initialized and re-calculate everything that was loaded into RAM every time you switch back to it? The OS knows when it needs to reclaim the memory for other apps; I just let it do its job. The Natural Language Search...

    Memory usage

500MB really isn't much on a modern system. I've got apps sitting idle right now eating 1.5GB. SwordSearcher loads and keeps a fair amount of data "warm" in memory as you use it (Bible text, indexes, modules you've opened, search caches, etc.) so it can respond instantly instead of hitting the...

Included John Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible [Gill] [Deluxe]

I already emailed you a replacement, to both of your email addresses, as you requested earlier. You've already upgraded. Your logs show that you have put multiple copies of your modules: One into your program files location, which you should not do, and so the second copies in your user...

All you have to do is re-install the full version of SwordSearcher.

    Reinstalling

The Gill commentary is part of the full SwordSearcher installation. If you install the full version you'll have it. Just go to the TABS menu and choose "Select which tabs to show." You should check your spam folder in case your download links were incorrectly classified as spam.

Taking a PDF and making a user module

Copy and paste into user module entries. This is what most people do. It's straightforward once you create a module: https://www.swordsearcher.com/video/user-modules.htm Another option is to use some other tool to convert your PDF to a more usable format (text or HTML, etc). If you know your...

SwordSearcher Shortcuts Saving Searches For Bible Study

I think one important thing to consider is that you cannot reproduce an exact search result with a SwordSearcher URL. It's not designed to convey enough information for that. There are some link builders in the user editor under the Insert menu -- personally I would recommend sticking to what's...

SwordSearcher Shortcuts Saving Searches For Bible Study

Not sure that's a feasible end goal. The URL system is designed for internal use, and is documented for people who are already proficient in hand-editing HTML. So, if you can become proficient in hand-editing HTML, that's when the URL system will click. I didn't expose the documentation for the...

I reply to emails like that promptly. Check your spam folder in case your email provider incorrectly classified it as spam. https://www.swordsearcher.com/contact.html Your serial number would be with your original order email, but you have a much bigger problem. You don't have a valid...

Guide to Running SwordSearcher on Linux Operating Systems (Updated June 2024)

A virtual machine installation should not have been difficult to get working, but of course you're still running Windows if you do that. It's not really a solution if your goal is to eschew Windows entirely. I understand your frustration and I am sorry to see you go. There is no simple solution...

    Library search option

No, when searching the library, you can easily scope your searches to specific books and commentaries, but there's no range-limiting on the content of those modules.

    Question

Not sure what you're planning, but SwordSearcher 10.0 works on Windows 10 and Windows 11. It doesn't matter if you're running on a dual boot system or not.

Guide to Running SwordSearcher on Linux Operating Systems (Updated June 2024)

Yup, Steam using Linux on their devices is probably why so much advancement in WINE has been made in recent years. It's definitely gotten way better than it used to be, because the gamers want to be able to play their old Windows PC games on Linux. I know that they do have a Gecko-based html...

Guide to Running SwordSearcher on Linux Operating Systems (Updated June 2024)

I also have a Steam Deck, though it's primary purpose is to play Balatro. :-) while it would be interesting to put SwordSearcher on it, actual official support for a Linux distro of any kind is not really on the table for SwordSearcher. The primary issue is that their MSHTML implementation is...

How do YOU guys set up and use your personal notes/commentaries in SS?

How do YOU guys set up and use your personal notes/commentaries in SS?

I strongly recommend the "one module" approach for verse based commentary. Creating separate modules for books or chapters would crowd your library a lot and make finding what you want very tedious. I have a single personal commentary module where all of my verse-based notes go. For books, I...

Guide to Running SwordSearcher on Linux Operating Systems (Updated June 2024)

As of SwordSearcher 10 you will need the x64 version for sure -- the x86 is 32-bit and SwordSearcher 10 dropped support for 32-bit Windows since nobody has been selling it for a very long time.

Guide to Running SwordSearcher on Linux Operating Systems (Updated June 2024)

SwordSearcher 10 does not use Edge WebView2, so adding it to your WINE instance won't have any effect on SwordSearcher whatsoever.
