I'm really saddened by your loss. I'm praying.

Movie "untraceable", Are you safe online?

Other advice I could think of is if you're not on dial-up and have permament connection, turn off your computer or disconnect the modem when you're not using it. Also, test your firewall using a site such as ShieldsUP! at www.grc.com. I think a properly configured firewall is very important...

Movie "untraceable", Are you safe online?

I don't know what the movie's about; I have an eight year old computer on dial-up, so I don't do videos in the first place. For security I use avast! anti-virus (free), SpywareBlaster (free, keeps spyware from being installed), Spybot Search and Destroy (free spyware scanner), Sygate personal...

    Looking for a new church

Wow! I didn't realize that. I'm going to stick to my church (not that I was planning to leave anyway). :)

    Looking for a new church

Thanks for the explainations. I wasn't familiar with "Free" Presbyterians at all. I just now thought of the Mennonites, wouldn't they use the KJV? I always think of them as being *very* fundamental, pretty solid people from what I've heard. Or the Amish as they seem to reject all things...

    Looking for a new church

Hi Kelly Jane, I'm praying that God will lead your family to the right church. Interesting. Just keep in mind that this is not an exhaustive listing. For instance our church isn't on there, apparently someone would have had to been aware of the site and then submitted our church to it...

    Books

You have a limited world-view :). Then, again, maybe the "city which hath foundations" is closer than I think?

    Money and the church

Your point is understood and well taken, but I'll go off on a rabbit-trail anyway :). Our little church has been blessed greatly over the past year or so. I can't give any specifics as to why; we didn't come up with any clever ideas for fund raising, or make it a point to preach on tithing...

    Money and the church

Good post Marty. I think the scripture passages you quoted says it all. Sad how we come up with all kinds of ideas on how we can accomplish great things for the Lord and forget to read the scriptures to see what He thinks about them. Besides the select group of distinguished donors with...

    ANNOUNCING: A major technological breakthrough!!!

Shouldn't this be in the Feature Request ("Future") section?

Added! Your opinion: Would Calvin's Commentaries be useful?

Wait a minute! Just who do you think you're calling senile??!!!

Added! Your opinion: Would Calvin's Commentaries be useful?

You lost me there. Pastor Tim simply obliged James' request to repeat himself. He's not that senile yet. :)

    Wish list for NEXT release

I sometimes wish I was 20 again, but do I really want to start my pilgrimage over when I'm getting so near Home? It would be like... Never mind, I forgot what I was going to say. ___________________ Elder Je... Opps, I mean DEACON Jeff.

    Wish list for NEXT release

You do prefer the title "Pastor" rather than "Father", don't you? :)

    Finally after all these years....

Back to the “bridge” joke. I still wonder if the joke itself couldn’t be considered divisive even when given in a lesson about unity. Maybe next time you tell it you should change the antagonist from the KJV’er to the MV’er, assuming you’re an MV’er and have been telling the joke the way it...

    Finally after all these years....

Thanks for your response Jerry :). I have other things to focus on the next couple of days, so MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! How blessed we are to know what Christmas is really about!

    Finally after all these years....

I'm wondering: 1.) Which side tells this joke more (KJV?s or MV?s)? a) Does this show that that side is actually MORE critical of the other? b) That the other side are dour, humorless people? c) Other? 2.) Is the purpose of this joke to a) Exhort...

    Finally after all these years....

Yep, "KJVO" and "Modern Versions" are interchangeable, though each one likes to believe it can only be told one way. In any case I would rather have my hero being the one who reaches out to save the other one as he jumps and then is accused of pushing him over the edge than the one bent on...

    Finally after all these years....

The moral of the story is that there was a guy pretending to be a Christian but in reality was bent on his own destruction (after all, how many real Chrsitians do you know who would have, or act on, suicidal thoughts?). After he jumped his peers blamed his death on conservative...

    Finally after all these years....

You really use that ancient, outdated version??? With a new, more accurate, literal, and easier to read version coming out every week you're waaaaaaaaaay behind. I prefer the NRTNMUAETFCNRMRDV120206 (The Newly Revised Today's New Modern Updated American English Twenety-first Century...
