    Spell check: --->>> Counsellor

They are both valid spellings. SwordSearcher's KJV uses the 1920 Cambridge University Press text which has "counseller." The text you are pasting in comes from some other edition. You can easily add the word to your custom spelling dictionary in the editor, just right-click it...

"You are using an out of date browser…”

I'd recommend switching to Edge, which is what Microsoft is supporting now. Internet Explorer is going away as a web browser and hasn't been keeping up with modern web standards. Microsoft is still supporting IE 11 with security updates, so I wouldn't consider it unsafe, but the lack of modern...

"You are using an out of date browser…”

I didn't even know the forum did that, but it makes sense, since old browsers have unpatched security holes that could allow your system to become compromised and compromise your forum account as well. Or it could just be an issue of feature support. Any browser has the problem, if it is not...

Having error with loading Bible Verses into Sword editor

SwordSearcher has the integrated KJV-TSK for cross referencing which is quite comprehensive already, but thank you. As for audio, since I don't distribute any of the audio and it is up to the user to obtain the mp3 files (legally), there is no copyright issue. There are some technical issues...

Having error with loading Bible Verses into Sword editor

The editor shows that you are specifying a link to all of Exodus chapters 25 through 31, and that's what is getting linked in the book panel. The hyphen in 25:1-31:18 is quite explicit in that it says, quite literally, "all the verses from 25:1 through 31:18." It's working as expected.

Having error with loading Bible Verses into Sword editor

In SwordSearcher, If you paste or type in a reference that looks like this: Ex 25:1-31:18 You are telling it to link from chapter 25 verse one through chapter 31 verse 18. So, seems like it is working as expected. The colon is explicitly telling SwordSearcher that the preceding number is a...

Having error with loading Bible Verses into Sword editor

I presume you mean SwordSearcher, just want to be sure we are on the same page. If I open the editor and put Ex 7:1-13 in there, I get a link to the expected verses. So, something else is going on. If you want to email me your user module I can take a look at the exact text you've entered as...

You didn't provide any information about what you've done; did you run the setup file they gave you? Did you get an error? Did the setup complete?

    Poetic Literature Formatting

Thanks for the suggestion. Since you asked if there are plans for this -- not presently, but that doesn't mean it isn't a future possibility.

    SwordSearcher at Ubuntu 20.04

SwordSearcher 4 is comparatively ancient. As Windows has progressed, SwordSearcher has been updated and enhanced to take advantage of new Windows features. Unfortunately, sometimes Wine and Crossover are just not up to the task of running all modern Windows applications. If you look around the...

    Trouble with TOC

You need to choose an entry that exists. The "Anchor Text" is not part of the link. If you leave it blank, it will use the name of the entry that you chose to link to.

What's your favorite Bible text font?

I noticed that too. One of the things that I find appealing about it is the numerals use the "old style" text numbers that drop below the baseline, so they flow nicely with lowercase text. Here's way more information than anybody really needs: https://alistapart.com/article/web-typography-numerals/

What's your favorite Bible text font?

I recently switched to using a font called Candara for Bible text in SwordSearcher. I like how the text "feels" in this typeface so much that I am considering making it the default font for new installations of SwordSearcher. Up to now, the default on new installations has been Calibri. So, I...

Narrowing and clarifying the scope of the User Forums

After a good deal of consideration, I have made the decision to narrow the scope of the forums so that they are devoted exclusively to SwordSearcher support and discussion. In order to continue providing a high standard of customer support and to devote more time to developing SwordSearcher, the...

This thread has really drifted from its original topic, so I am going to close it. It's probably also a good idea to take discussions about personal meetups to private communications.
