Pls recommend tablet for elderly use

...You can try it with a browser here: https://www.bible.com/ My wife has it on her iPad from the Apple app store. It runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, and any browser. The browser version doesn't sync the verses with the audio as you listen, but the app store versions do. It's not SwordSearcher...

    SwordSearcher at Ubuntu 20.04

...SwordSearcher is Windows PC software and I can only officially support running it on Windows. https://forums.swordsearcher.com/search/88871/?q=linux&o=date Your best option is to set up a virtual machine running real Windows 10 and install it into the VM. You could also try getting support...

Port SwordSearcher into MacOS and/or Linux

I use Linux and have used Wine successfully with it. If you're willing to purchase CrossOver (https://www.codeweavers.com/), it'll work right out of the box. I'm using the latest version. I haven't tried CrossOver with MacOS but the Linux port was awesome.

Port SwordSearcher into MacOS and/or Linux

...code base is thoroughly Windows-based as it has been developed since the mid-1990s to leverage that platform. Re-compiling it for Mac or Linux is impossible; a new project almost from the ground-up would be required to support a non-Windows platform. I have no development team, it's just me...

Port SwordSearcher into MacOS and/or Linux

Is there any possibility to make a request that SwordSearcher be ported to MacOS and/or Linux? Is there any possibility in that?

    SwordSearcher on Mac OS-X?

My 2 cents, is I have it running on Linux, I had it running on OSX, my primary box for SS is always going to be W10. It just works and not tweaking needed.

...tabs to what I use the most often. But there is so much good information there!!! LOL! Thank you guys again! BTW: Brandon, I have been following the "SS on Linux" thread and all I can say is that...SwordSearcher is the ONLY reason I still use windows! LOL! Thanks for such a great product!

    SwordSearcher on Linux

Thanks you guys for the screen shots, I just got a sale "flyer" from CodeWeavers and am wondering if it doesn't work a little more consistently than my VM's with XP? (same vm software and same winxp, but different results with different host OS's ... hmm free trial again on crossover?... anyway...

    SwordSearcher on Linux

I have given up on SS on Linux, every update or two always breaks something. Codeweavers on my Mac however runs good, looks good, still has the webding missing icons thing but works for me.

...I see. They appear blurry a bit, but I do not see that blur. I will say they are not as crisp as they are on windows, partly due to my native Linux graphics rpm. My next adventure is to load the Linux Nvidia drivers and hope my inittab level works. :) Please see attached. If you'd like...

    SwordSearcher on Linux

...load the Nvidia drivers, and see how that turns out (inittab became my best friend) :). I started out years ago on Solaris, and am now an AIX\Linux Admin guy who gets to architect SAS GRIDS on AIX, Enterprise Backup and now onto Enterprise Cloud backups (a vendors dream). I love to play with...

...in native Windows over my other MS issues. SwordSearcher 8.2 in Win 10 on a 2K and up display is amazingly crisp clean and comfortable. Love Linux as I do, dislike MS equally as much... but can't live without SwordSearcher and so I use Win 10 most or even sometimes 7 or XP in a VM to get by...

    SwordSearcher on Linux

Hello All...I'm a first time forum poster and wanted to share my experience with SS7 on Linux CentOS 6.9 (final release). I downloaded the WINE 3.0 source code, on top of a Dell desktop. Windows had crashed on me, so I decided to turn the desktop into a CentOS 6.9 desktop (recycling, I guess)...

    Installed 8.1 Update on Ubuntu

I run the latest SS 8.2.1.58 on Linux Mint 18.2 using VirtualBox (with guest additions) and Windows 10 Home. It runs exactly the same as my Window 10 boot drive. Even the Scourby audio files work correctly now on Linux with the latest Windows and VirtualBox updates.

    Installed 8.1 Update on Ubuntu

...Did you have to make any changes to WINE, or did it install easily? I have purchased each update, but have not been able to get from 6-8 up and running using Linux Mint. Currently version 18.3. Now that Microsoft no longer has previous versions of IE available makes it even more difficult.

    Mobile SwordSearcher?

I am with you 100% on this. Better to have one platform that works well than 2 or more that are less than great. Yours is very much a niche business, and the market probably just isn't there to branch out with the hopes of pulling in enough new sales to pay someone else to do programming so the...

...to its strengths and take advantage of all that it offers, which I assure you as a developer, is well in advance of other systems like OSX or Linux. This strength is also a weakness in the sense that it makes it much more difficult to transition to other platforms. What many people assume is...

Virtualbox running Window 10 Home works great under Linux Mint 18.2 also. Not Mac related but FYI.
