User-submitted The Joy of BIBLE STUDY - Dr. Joe C. Pendleton

You named the file DrJCP-assets.zip which was confusing. The contents of the zip were correct, I just renamed it to DrJCP.zip.

I enjoyed my Windows Phones. I used them up until the last Lumia model was released, but by that time the market had already decided on Android and iPhone, and Microsoft's heart wasn't really in it any more, and they barely marketed their final Lumia models at all.

    Book Module help Using Forge

The trouble with this is that using Forge is really the easy part. Preparing text for Forge to compile is the hard part and I can't think of a way to generalize it beyond what I wrote in the Forge documentation. I have prepared text for SwordSearcher hundreds of times using internal tools...

    Book Module help Using Forge

There are no "pages" in SwordSearcher. It starts with that. SwordSearcher is indexed by verse and entry names. Not pages. Some people may need an 18 pt font size. Others may prefer a 12 pt font size. Some people want their background to be a soft white, others like bold colors for their...

    Book Module help Using Forge

If you want to honor the SwordSearcher color/font settings, you need to scrub all the hardcoded stuff out of the module. You can do this with the style and format cleaner. User menu, Advanced User Module Maintenance, Rebuild, check Remove Style and Formatting... but be sure to read what it says...

    commentary

I just saw your email where you describe the problem differently, stating that the commentary tab disappeared. If it's just that the tab is not there, you need to add it to your selected tabs by going to the Tabs menu and choosing "Select which tabs to show."

    commentary

When you edit a commentary entry in SwordSearcher it immediately saves the changes in your Documents\SwordSearcher User Modules folder. If your work is mysteriously disappearing between logged in sessions on your computer, something external is removing the file. This could be poorly designed...

    Book Module help Using Forge

Forge is really meant for projects where a large source of text is being converted to a SwordSearcher module, which has been prepared with some kind of text processing. It's akin to how I build the extremely large modules for the official library. If you are building a module one entry at a time...

    Book Module help Using Forge

Yes and no. The module asset links are created during the design edit phase. The links will be in your Forge output, but it would be pretty easy to break them from that point on, since they rely on correct file placement. If you're just exporting the Forge source to make edits and then rebuild...

    Book Module help Using Forge

The design editor will automatically generate correct module asset links and copy the files into the assets folder. Forge doesn't do any of that. If you for some reason want to add module assets while editing the Forge source files you have to manually do it all, which I would not recommend...

Article on KJV and Isaiah 9:6

In SwordSearcher I would recommend using the Topic and Verse Guide and see what is listed for Isa 9:6. There is a lot of content to look through but it shouldn't take too long to find out if there are critical comments about the rendering in English. I have not done this research myself. Beyond...

They tried and failed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Phone I spent a good deal of development time working on a Windows Phone Bible study application that never saw the light of day.

    Verse Link Divisions

Rather than trying to trick the system, just use the feature intended for this purpose. The system is designed with good reason to group the contiguous references internally. If you want to change how the links are shown at runtime, you can. I may be misunderstanding your request, though...

English-Strong's Indexer (ESI): Why is "conversion" present when searching for "conversation"?

You have English stemming turned on, which is the default I think. The words "conversion" and "conversation" are both reduced to "convers" by the stemming algorithm which is why they both show up. You can disable the "always find all word forms" option to work around it.

    Highlight with parallel Bibles

Yup. It's going to highlight all of the Bible text you mark, it won't skip over either column.

    Highlight with parallel Bibles

I'm not sure I understand. Are you reporting that the mouse marking didn't start where you wanted it to, or that the highlight was not applied to the marked text until the second column started? I am unable to produce an unexpected outcome in compare mode. All the text I mark is highlighted...
