I took the liberty to "image map" the verses on the first chart so they pop up in SwordSearcher using a tool called Mapedit.

If you want to try it, unzip the attached file and replace the text in the first topic using the SS code editor. It's very handy to see the verses when viewing the chart.

How long did it take you to edit the one chart? Just wondering because I have about 100 charts like that just on the church. Trying to gey an idea how long it might take. First I have to convert the charts from pdf format to .png or jpg format....
Thanks

It took about 10 minutes to put the hotspots on the chart. It took a few minutes longer to edit the result to make a couple global changes to the html, and then another couple minutes to try all the links. So, about 1/2 hour.

Now, are the hotspots imbedded into the chart?? You menrioned "HTML" I am assuming the html will not be necessary, since graphic will inserted into the book created by SwordSearcher.
The text file you pasted into the first topic, 01-A Clean Church, is html format. That's where the hot spots are located that overlay the picture. Each topic in the module would have it's own overlay.

Ok. I undetstand. So. Let me ask a stupid question, how does mapedit insert the hotspot overlay links into the SwordSearcher page? How does SwordSearcher find the overlay? Also, is there a seperate overlay for each graphic/image?

You open the image in mapedit and draw a rectangle over a verse. You fill in the dialog box with verse reference. Mapedit creates an html file. You manually paste that into the SS code editor for the topic and make a few changes. It's probably not worth the effort if you have a lot of charts. Also you would have to find an alternative to mapedit since it's not available any longer.

If you have more questions, maybe send me a message using the envelop at the top of the forum -

Here's topic 2. You can compare this text with what is currently in the module topic.

Now I am confused wsbones. What do you mean "replace the text in the first topic, using the SS code editor. What is the SS Code Editor? Is that something related to SwordSearcher? I took a look at the file you zipped and in notepad looks similar to a html file. That I am familiar with. Just kinda in the dark as to how to replace the text in the first topic "The Clean Church." How do I attach or imbed this information into the Graphic File in order for the Scripture Reference(s) to "Pop-up" in SwordSearcher? I under stand the principle, but not necessarily how to apply to the file itself. Where do I find the editor? I haven't heard of the SS Code editor until you sent the message today. I realize that the file you zipped has coordinates relative to the first topic file. Thanks

When you open the editor on the first topic this is what you see. Note the tab at the bottom. Click that and replace what you see there with what I posted in the zip file. Then save and try the links. It should work.

Well, I figured it out. That HTML Code works really good! Like that!
Now I have to go find that MapEdit program. Not sure, because I cam across several
programs with the name "MapEdit" Where did you get yours? Website? It was a
breeze pasting that code into the editor. It worked like a top! Didn't know yuu could do
that in SwordSearcher. That is a really neat feature. SwordSearcher is the first Bible
program that I was aware of that enabled you to do that. That will make things much better!\

The second one; "a sound church" does work. But the first one "a clean church" does not open to be copied...:(

I cannot find or locate the mapedit program. Tried to download a couple called "MapEdit" and "MapEdit++" but neither one worked.
if you can help me out there I would appreciate it. Google must have found 10,000 different links go MapEdit, but not knowing where
to download it from, I am at a loss. Therefore, I cannot use the program if I cannot find it.

If it is freeware or whatever, can you place the ZIP version, etc... in a message? I just cannot find the program...
