Book to Commentary Question?

I have never done a commentary. I have done books. Can one take the book and make it a Commentary?
Is the process about the same as SwordSearcher create book, then use text file for edits, then use Forge to create the Commentary?
Or can one simply use that text file and just simply "Make a Commentary" from an already make "book module"?
Anyone want to clear this up as it is mud to me... before I waste a lot of time on the project.
Thanks.

Commentaries are linked verse-by-verse so I think converting a book to a commentary would involve a LOT of work to create the links to individual verses. I don't think SwordSearcher is equipped to do that automatically. You might want to create a commentary so you understand the process. Many of us have created a 'My Notes' commentary so we can keep notes on each verse, like when you make notes in a Bible margin.

If all of the book entry names are verse references, and nothing else, then this will work. If it is mixed with other things, such as chapter names or a table of contents, etc, it will not work.

It's easy if you remember that a SwordSearcher commentary module is 100% verse-based entries. Every single entry in a commentary is tied to a single verse and nothing else. (But of course it may contain references to other things in its content.)

Books have no restrictions, and entry titles for books can be verse references if you want, but also topics, dictionary headwords, chapter names, whatever. If you know that a module is going to be completely verse-based entries, don't make it a book, make it a commentary.

Maybe you could have your writings under a section of Bible verses, kind of like Matthew Henry's. If the writing related to those verses.

Concept with verses noted. That was enough said for me.
I'll stick with Book Modules for now.
Thanks you guys, glad I did not go down that rabbit hole before asking Forum...
