I remember someone on here said that they were going to read the John Gill Commentary New Testament as maybe for a New Year resolution/goal. I was wondering how they were doing, as I did something similar reading Matthew Henry's six volume commentary. As far as my reading, it was going very well and I was on track to get it done by the end of the year, until I got to the New Testament. Matthew Henry's commentary is a lot longer when writing on the New Testament. I was averaging about three chapters a day in the Old Testament and now in the New Testament my average is about less than a chapter a day.
Just wanted to do this post to see where the other Sword Searcher member is at and to encourage them. Also, If you haven't started reading the Matthew Henry six volume commentary it is well worth it. I was putting it off because of me thinking it was kind of long to read, but it has been great so far. It has been a real blessing from God.
