Modules and User Modules?

Sword Searcher has just installed in my Program Files folder and not in my Program Files (x86) like the old program was. If that is right, then where does the SwordSearcher User Modules folder go? As it stands right now, I have the SwordSearcher User Modules folder in several places on my computer and I have a strong feeling such is messing up my installation.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do and if I should dump those extra user ones from all those other places? They are not even listed anywhere in the new installation.

Thanks much,
Regie

Indeed.

SwordSearcher will not create "several places" for user modules. It will create one.

The manual has the details:

It sounds like you have tried to manually move your installation from an old computer; that is the only way I can think of that you would end up with more than one installation folder as you described.

The setup program is the only supported and correct way to get SwordSearcher on to your computer. If you have tried to manually move the whole installation from a previous computer you cannot have completed the steps done by the setup program. It sounds like you have run Setup after manually copying over the program files from another installation. But that is just a guess on my part. I don't have enough information.

If you have multiple folders called "SwordSearcher User Modules" I can only guess that you have copied over those from a previous installation into incorrect locations, but I can only guess.

The best thing to do is to open SwordSearcher, go to File, Preferences, Module File Locations. Take a look there and it will show you where SwordSearcher is looking for your user modules. That is the correct place to put user modules. You can manually add additional user module locations but I wouldn't recommend doing that without a purpose.

Reminds me I have to get a back up disk (since I can't find my last one)!
