The default for search link seems to be a phrase. I tried creating a link search for - forty days nights - and found nothing. Should the default for this link be all words, since there is a [q] ... [q] option for phrases?

You are correct, the search link processing for URLs is forcing phrase matching. I'll put this on the bug list.

Just for clarification for anyone else reading this, the bug Bill found has to do with custom search links in the user editor. It isn't a problem with the usual Bible or Library searching.
