SwordSearcher on Chromebook Using Wine

Has anyone installed SS on a Chromebook and got it to work? I have a friend who thinks this is possible. I know its a small thing, but I'm just not willing to buy a windows laptop yet. The only windows software I would run on it is SS. Thanks!
 
I don't know that anyone has tried that. It definitely won't work on the really low-end ARM Chromebooks because they don't have the right CPU architecture. I would be concerned about performance regardless. I have had some people report success running SwordSearcher 8 under WINE on normal desktop machines though.
 
What about on Linux? I can put Linux on the Chromebook I have. Could someone point me in the right direction? There is one person that is running E-Sword on a Chromebook using Codeweavers for Android. Android apps are not quite available yet for my Chromebook.
