Webster's 1828 "dispensation"

Webster's 1828 Dictionary in SwordSearcher second definition of "dispensation" reads:


2. The dealing of God to his creatures; the distribution of good and evil, natural or moral, in the divine government.

"Neither are Gods methods or intentions different in his dispensations to each private man."​

I 'googled' the quotation and found the name "Rogers," but could not find exactly who he was. Could it be John Rogers, 1505-1555, who "...contributed some valuable prefaces and marginal notes..." to the Matthews Bible?

Good question. I found the quote in several different places but it always referred to just Rogers.

BTW, The Webster's 1913 module gives the attribution to Rogers. It also has many more Bible references linked into SS and over 99000 words defined.
