I'm approving this module post provisionally and I would like feedback from users on the forum about modules like this.

This module doesn't actually contain the complete Works of John Owen as listed in the table of contents. It's a collection of links to external documents/etc and therefore does not integrate at all with SwordSearcher's search and verse indexing systems.

My concern is that the module listing implies that the complete works are available as a SwordSearcher book module but they are not actually in the module, and the features SwordSearcher users are accustomed to with books in the software not not integrated with this content. Having said that, perhaps people find the links useful? Personally, I would never find occasion to use them from inside SwordSearcher but I am not every SwordSearcher user.
 
@Brandon Staggs I truly believe Pastor Langley is trying to be a blessing, and this type of module may be a help and benefit to him, and perhaps others. I think there is another module which was created with links to perhaps McGees works? I could have that wrong, but I think there is at least one other module which is basically links to outside works. So, some users may find it helpful and useful. (Edit: I just did a quick look at the modules with McGee's study booklets and audio files may be more than how I have described them, but I don't have them downloaded for the same reason.)

However, one of the best features SS has is how it integrates the texts - whether official or user made - so they show up in the books / commentary links for relevant verses, and the works can be thoroughly searched with the various options SS offers. So I don't think I would find it very useful, and I am sure I would not use it, nor download it.

Incidentally, the way everything is integrated, makes SS far and away better than other programs. I am thinking specifically of e-Sword, which I also have, and because of it's popularity it has many more user made works. But I can't search them like I can with SS, and I can't see their value linked to whatever verse they might include. So I use SS about 90% of my study time - and also because I have been with it so long and it's basically my home for Bible study.

Again, if this type of module is a blessing or benefit to someone else, I am not against that. I am simply saying, from my decades of experience using the program and finding great profit in all the various features, and how integrated and intuitive it is with all the works I have brought in (I checked the other day and I have about 11 pages of various works - Bibles, commentaries, books, etc.) - I would not find a module of links useful or helpful.

It would need the actual text in SS to be useful to me.
 
Ok that is something I did not take into account. (integration and refernce into S.S.) I agree with all here. Forgive the wrong thinking SwordSearcher exists and how it integrates with text and cross references! Still learning. That said. You have my permission to cancel it with no hard feelings. After reading these three reply's I hope to do better in the future. Thank you all for the kind comments, even though it does not fit the Criteria for SwordSearcher. Since my classes were so intense and the study and reading requirements, I integrated SwordSearcher as my goto tool for study. The [TManton] Thomas Manton may be as well a no-go. It is close to the same. The full works are there but too large to upload (large file 994MB size shared download from outside S.S. but as photocopies, not editable or integrated for cross-reference. Forgive and delete...
Now I see better how to use and share thanks to your reply. Again let's remove both and I will just enjoy them locally. May God Bless.

Is there a way to send, share, or test a modules, before hand. Not everyone builds modules, but when one is considered is there an aveneue for this? Granted, EXPERIENCE is the best teacher, and SwordSearcher approves all these. Should I even ask this?

Kind words, thank you but wsbones is right, without text it disables the Features for SwordSearcher. I agree with all three comments. Either I change the description which I did. Or we delete and start from scratch. Which I certainly am in agreement. Just more experience for me in Module Builds. We await the final decision... ha Amen.
 
Just to be clear, there is nothing to apologize for. I know for a fact many users create their own modules that consist primarily of links to external material. Personally I do this on a topical or verse-by-verse basis. The ability to link to external content is most definitely an intended feature and useful. So, this is not unusual, it's just that there is a question of the usefulness as a module in the repository which is intended for a wider audience.

I am going to leave the module in the repository.

Certainly, modules can be shared outside of the repository. This repository is intended for completed works though.

You might start a thread in the modules subforum asking for people who may be interested in what you are working on and share OneDrive links, etc. As long as the thread doesn't become an overwhelming avalanche of posts to external material I wouldn't haven't a problem with that.

Certainly, modules can be shared outside of the repository. This repository is intended for completed works though.

You might start a thread in the modules subforum asking for people who may be interested in what you are working on and share OneDrive links, etc. As long as the thread doesn't become an overwhelming avalanche of posts to external material I wouldn't haven't a problem with that.

Please advise, my willingness to be obedient to and Loyal to SwordSearcher, and not cause any issues.

Go to your module listing and use the update function if you need to upload a new version of it or change anything.
