The drop down box in the book window acts weird if you have lots of tabs showing. I have 13 rows when I use alt-f11. Left clicking the down arrow shows the list briefly but then it disappears. It works fine with fewer tabs showing.
This seems to happen only under these conditions - using any of the standard layouts but then closing the windows that are sharing the side of the screen with the book window so that any window is on one side of the screen and the book window is on the other (all others closed by clicking the x).
In order to keep the dropdown list visible, you have to hold the mouse left button down.
