default highlighting

I've been doing a lot of highlighting and find that most of the time I want the default highlight which I have chosen. Sometimes I want to change to a different color or underline for a single use and then go back to the default.

I wonder if the default color could be changed by ctrl-clicking. Otherwise leave the default fixed and allow a one time change to be made using the dropdown.
