Could floating windows in custom layout have a minimize button? They float in front of the fixed windows and you either have to close them or move them to see what is underneath.
 
I'm not sure where they would minimize to -- do you have an idea in mind?

It could minimize like the editor to the task bar. Or maybe to an icon within the SS window? Actually if it just went to the background when another window got focus, that would be great. Otherwise you have to keep moving it around. It's easy enough to bring it back to the foreground with f9-f12.

Here's another situation to consider. If you have links to Scripture in a Powerpoint or web page and you want to be able to use SS to display the links (using the 5.3 link syntax), it works well to have the verslist window float, but you have to drag the rest of SS to the bottom of the screen so it's out of the way so you can see the presentation and the scripture window. Could SS be minimized and still have the verselist window show?
