Edersheim's work is a wonderful tool, but like any tool, it must be used wisely. As a preacher, my responsibility is to present God’s Word faithfully, with humility and careful study. I aim to balance the wealth of historical knowledge from scholars like Edersheim with a prayerful, Spirit-led approach to interpreting Scripture, so that the message I deliver is both historically informed and spiritually edifying, and doctrinal sound.
As with all works we tend to use for Bible Study, use them, glean from them, but always, always use the Master's Tool, The God Breathed Inspired Word of God the KJV Bible.
