Article on KJV and Isaiah 9:6

Topic and Verse Guide did the trick. There was a wealth of solid and useful discussions on it. It's fascinating that I was able to get such a wealth of riches a click away using Topic and Verse Guide. SS makes it a breeze to enjoy the riches of God's Word and the library it comes with.

Article on KJV and Isaiah 9:6

Sounds good. Thanks Brandon for the info! I will try a Topic and Verse Guide search. I have Sorenson's commentary in SS, so I may check him out as well and read his comments on the verse.

Article on KJV and Isaiah 9:6

Indeed. The missing comma (in many modern versions) changes the entire meaning of the verse which people are missing. I hear a myriad of preachers and Bible teachers refer to Christ in this passage as the "Wonderful Counselor". While He certainly is a Wonderful Counselor, the missing comma...

Article on KJV and Isaiah 9:6

Does anyone know where I can find an article (in SS or outside of SS) on why the KJV uses a comma between "Wonderful" and "Counselor" in Isaiah 9:6, whereas some modern translations do not? It would be another good article in defense of the KJV translators. Thanks!

Guide to Running SwordSearcher on Linux Operating Systems (Updated June 2024)

My Macs can't run MacPorts at the moment since they're on the Sequoia beta, but they are running Homebrew. Am I going to need to wait and try this after MacPorts is available for Sequoia?

Thanks! I may try Apple Silicon first since it's more difficult. Give me a good challenge. :-)

Guide to Running SwordSearcher on Linux Operating Systems (Updated June 2024)

Sounds good. I'm comfortable with a command line since I also spent quality time on Linux. Want me to try on Intel or Apple Silicon first (or do you have a preference)?

Guide to Running SwordSearcher on Linux Operating Systems (Updated June 2024)

Since WINE also runs on a Mac, would these instructions also work on a Mac? I own both an Intel and Apple Silicon Mac, so I'm willing to test anything if need be!

    2024 is SwordSearcher's 30th Anniversary! 😁

Even v3 looks very intuitive for its time.

I believe so. They're still doing that for the PDF.

Understanding the Bible: An Independent Baptist Commentary

I think it would be good to offer a CD option (for both addon modules and upgrades), especially for those with slow/unreliable Internet.

    AI (not the city)

I've played around with AI tools. I agree with Brandon. It's decently useful for basic summaries, but even then, I cross-check anything I've done with it. I'm not a huge fan of it, and I'd still prefer to think instead of letting AI do the work for me. I've been getting "burned out" by the...

Understanding the Bible: An Independent Baptist Commentary

You could burn the installer to a CD or put it on a Flash Drive. I backed mine up on an external drive. I've been there before with massive PC crashes. Now I backup everything plus I recently added offsite backup to my systems.

Understanding the Bible: An Independent Baptist Commentary

This one is well worth it. As one who has consulted tons of commentaries during seminary, including some dry and critical commentaries, this one is a breath of fresh air!

Hee hee! I don't either. You will love his commentary. One of the finest I've found in its category.

    NASB Add-On Module Question

I wouldn't recommend including them with the main SS Library purchase, but a couple of them could be addon purchases (like how one can purchase the NASB as an addon). The MEV would make another useful addon purchase for those of us who need to show the superiority of the KJV over the MEV. For...
