It also has zero perceivable impact on startup time. It's a standard way of applications to let the user know the program is initializing so they don't keep double-clicking their icon while stuff goes on in the background.

Editor Member Messages 46 Sep 14, 2016 #8 Thanks for the replies on this topic. It's not really a "start-up splash screen", instead simply a start-up splash. It's fine to display the splash, but if there was an setting I'd probably turn it off. No offense or complaint intended, and I use SS8 nearly every day. Kudos! -Ed
