Let's do this one step at a time. It will work. Do you keep most of your SS files in the Documents/SwordSearcher User Modules folder?
 
Gord, if you get the notion, try these steps:
1. Create the SwordSearcher User Modules folder (if you don't already have it), then create a JVM-Assets folder in that and put your pdf file there.
2. In the SS Editor, type this code: <a href="file:///C:/Users/Gord/Documents/SwordSearcher%20User%20Modules/JVM-Assets/no1_Guidelines.pdf">Guidelines</a>
3. Make sure that capitalization in the pdf file's name is exact, i.e. if the file's name in the folder is "No1_Guidelines" it has to be that in the code.
4. Let me know if that doesn't work. I use Windows 8.1 and it works for me as above. The "%20" in the code is a space... If this doesn't work, don't get frustrated and quit. It will work. Sometimes you have to do one step at a time because if you make a lot of changes, you don't know what's broken. If we get one thing to work, we can get another thing to work.
 
Thanks Marty, I will have another go tonight. Do these have to be in the Swordsearcher modules folder???
 
Possibly not, I'll try a few things before this evening. We just need to get it working once and then we can try other things. There may be a setting for using other directories or it may not matter, but if something isn't working we need to start at a place that does work. I'll check it out.
 
There IS a setting in preferences for module locations. It's under Module File Locations - last tab on the list. That's most likely the problem.

Did you get the email I sent with the link to the JVM installer. I used a shortened URL for the link and it may have been blocked. I notice that my browser is blocking shortened URL's. Just wondering. The official module will be available on the forum soon as a zip file containing all the PDF's.
 
I'll be very interested in that, Bill! Are you talking about the Notes and Outlines pdfs or the Commentary files as well? I have the commentaries on a CD put out by Nelson, but it's not compatible with Windows 8 and I haven't been able to make it work here, so I have to wait until I get with my old computer to take them off. I have several saved to this computer, but I'd like McGee's whole commentary. I've tried corresponding with the TTB bunch, but I get no response.

All the books aren't in the zip file, Bill. Is there another one with the rest of them? I don't see 1 or 2 Samuel, Kings, Chronicles, ...

***Never mind, I found them bundled together.
But would you post your image map for the png, please?

They are combined in some cases but all the bookcase links go to the right place. There should be 50 files in the JVM-assets directory.
 
The image map should be part of the module. You can just copy the html from the module. Is that what you mean?
 
I didn't see the Bookshelf image at all in the module, but I've constructed it and am working on the map. Good practice for me! I get lazy and want someone else to do all the work... :) It will be done in a few minutes.

Thanks, Bill! I did get the bookshelf.png but there was no entry in the module for it. So I made one for it and copied the map from the BCWB module, then modified the map for the pdf files. One day I'll have all McGee's commentaries mapped, too!
