Does anyone ha a complete list of kjv parenthetical verses?

Such as...
John 4:2: “(Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)”
Acts 1:15: “(the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)”
Romans 2:13: “(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.)”
Romans 5:13: “(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.)”
2 Corinthians 5:7: “(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”
Ephesians 2:5: “(by grace ye are saved;)”
Philippians 3:18: “(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:)”
1 Timothy 3:5: “(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)”
Hebrews 7:20-21: the “(For those priests were made without an oath...)”

Thank You,

Yes — there is a count. The KJV contains 223 sets of parentheses (223 left and 223 right), meaning 223 parenthetical passages. This comes from directly counting the punctuation marks in the text.

Note that not every one of those 223 is a whole verse — some parentheses enclose only a phrase within a verse, while others (like Romans 5:13–17) enclose entire verse ranges. But the total number of parenthetical insertions in the KJV text is 223.

If someone does not get here before I can find them, I'll send them along.

The parentheses were not in the original 1611 KJV. They were introduced in the 1769 Oxford revision by Benjamin Blayney, Regius Professor of Divinity at Oxford, who standardized the text's punctuation, spelling, and italics. His work built on an earlier 1762 Cambridge revision by Francis S. Parris, and together they produced what became the "Oxford Standard" text — the basis for virtually every KJV Bible printed today.

So while the content of the parenthetical passages is the translators' own words from 1611, the parenthesis marks themselves are Blayney's editorial addition in 1769, used to flag a "thought within a thought."

Find here, [Microsoft File Share] hope his is what you were looking for. Word doc with list, text file (KJV) what I used to search the parameter, "("
