Several times when i use the ctrl-alt-v option, i have to do it 2 or 3 times before it will paste into the word processing program i am using (usually not Word).
It is possible it won't take the first time because I am not in Word, but since it does work with other (more simple) processing software, and usually the first time, I thought I'd mention it.
