question on editor

I have the editor open on a book topic in either design or code mode.

Sometimes, but not always, at the bottom of the editor next to the word "insert/overwrite", html codes and text will display in the empty space. It may happen if I hover the mouse over a link in the Bible window such as a book link or on the previous/next link. It doesn't happen consistently however. It seems to stop when I scroll the Bible window. Then it starts again at some point.

Is this meant to do something or is it an artifact of development?

It's not meant for anything. It's technical, but has to do with global hint settings and pop-up windows.
