AI algorithm

I don't understand the question. If by "part of it" you mean SwordSearcher, there are no current plans to integrate any "AI" features into SwordSearcher.

Praise the Lord! And please don't! As much as I can control, I don't AI anywhere near anything as important as God's Word.

And the program itself is already one of the fastest, most intuitive & intelligently integrated Bible program of any I have used, bar none.

I know there are already apps out there featuring AI connected with the Bible in some form or fashion, and I am sure the developers for the most part have good intentions, but as for me, thank you, NO.

I do trust Brandon but as a long time user, that's my vote.

Would Artificial Intelligence be built in as an integral part of it?
I felt additional comments and clarifications are warranted. My initial reply kind of came off as dismissive, and I don't mean to give that impression. It's a great question, because AI tools are becoming so prevalent now.

People mean different things by the broad term "AI" so I want to make a clear statement about the direction of SwordSearcher's development. I realized after reviewing your question and my answer (and Tim's comments) that the term "AI" is too broad to give such a short and blunt answer.

SwordSearcher will continue to innovate and improve its search capabilities to help you find relevant Bible passages more easily. Here is what won't change:
  • No internet connection required. Everything runs locally on your computer.
  • No cloud services, no session data sent anywhere, no accounts.
  • No chatbots or conversational AI.
  • Your searches and study remain completely private.
The goal is always better tools for Bible study that respect your privacy and work entirely offline. Most of what people think of as "AI" today involves expensive round-trips to data centers which churn on your prompts and return answers. I have no plans to add that kind of functionality to SwordSearcher, first because I don't think the chatbots are a good source for spiritually discerned insight, but also because the cost is prohibitive and would force a significant change to how I sell SwordSearcher.

I am always thinking about how I can make SwordSearcher a more powerful study and Bible search tool, but ultimately, it is a tool which is meant to help the user do Bible study. The authority is the word of God, not commentaries or dictionaries or curated verse lists. I want to make sure people are pointed to the word of God in their study and don't use SwordSearcher as a replacement for study, so I am very sensitive to the types of features I add to it.

Things can always change in the future, but this represents my current philosophy and intent.

I hope this is helpful and if you have any additional questions (or concerns) just ask.

Thank you Brandon. I share the same concerns as Rev Tim regarding AI distortions (or "hallucinations" which is a poor excuse by the AI programmers for the machine made an error). I'm glad my TI-30 back in the old days didn't "hallucinate" by depicting the result for 2+2 equaling 5...

Again, thanks for all that you do.

Of course, truth be told... It's not the machine that made the mistake, but the programming. When I write code, if the results are incorrect or perform differently than what I expected, the fault is in my programming - thus I tear into the code, searching for the glitch... and fix it.

Also, LLMs don't make those kinds of mistakes anymore. Three years ago, sure. Today, they can do high-level math that only a handful of people in the world understand.

Amen, That philosophy is what brought me to the Sword Searcher - the Bible is the authority period. I love the search in Swordsearcher and it has helped me in study of God's Word tremendously. The older I get, the LORD draws me away from the thoughts and conclusions of scholars and commentators to the fact that the Bible contains its own dictionary and I must continually keep God's Word in context - What God meant when He wrote it. The LORD said His Word is more necessary than food, that God's Word is eternal, and that faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Man's word is only temporal. I am so happy that the Sword searcher's primary focus is to be a tool and I was led to this tool as a great help in necessary Bible Study. I also must add, thank you Brandon for writing such a great study tool.
