Article on KJV and Isaiah 9:6

Does anyone know where I can find an article (in SS or outside of SS) on why the KJV uses a comma between "Wonderful" and "Counselor" in Isaiah 9:6, whereas some modern translations do not? It would be another good article in defense of the KJV translators. Thanks!

Indeed. The missing comma (in many modern versions) changes the entire meaning of the verse which people are missing. I hear a myriad of preachers and Bible teachers refer to Christ in this passage as the "Wonderful Counselor". While He certainly is a Wonderful Counselor, the missing comma misses the point that He's not only "Counselor", but He is also "Wonderful" as a standalone noun. It's a shame many people are missing this point of the passage.

In SwordSearcher I would recommend using the Topic and Verse Guide and see what is listed for Isa 9:6. There is a lot of content to look through but it shouldn't take too long to find out if there are critical comments about the rendering in English. I have not done this research myself.

Sounds good. Thanks Brandon for the info! I will try a Topic and Verse Guide search. I have Sorenson's commentary in SS, so I may check him out as well and read his comments on the verse.

Topic and Verse Guide did the trick. There was a wealth of solid and useful discussions on it.

It's fascinating that I was able to get such a wealth of riches a click away using Topic and Verse Guide. SS makes it a breeze to enjoy the riches of God's Word and the library it comes with.
