My very good friend Amalia (https://forums.swordsearcher.com/members/harpazotheredeemed.8154/) is really considering SS9 this week.
As I am a BIG FAT #0 in MAC stuff; what would be the easiest way to download/run/use SS9 in a MAC.
I suggested Ms. Amalia to purchase a small PC (refurbished) just for SS9 to carry around with her Bible....
Did I do well/good ? ? ? ?
Thank you SS friends. 🐸

Thank you :) I don't know much about this subject either, so I appreciate all the help I can get!

I've purchased and upgraded small Windows based notebooks and computers a few times just for SwordSearcher when I was traveling. It works great! As a bonus, I could get emails and keep in touch with family, make notes, etc. It was fun to find coffee shops and cafes that had free wi-fi.

Johnny,

I don't know the MAC's capabilities, but if possible perhaps your friend could install an instance of Windows using a Virtual Machine and then install SS9. Windows Users can install older instances of Windows (like 2000, XP, Vista, etc) using VMWare in their current Modern Windows computer and then install older favorite applications in that Virtual Machine that no longer work in today's Windows. But again, I don't know if MAC's can do that.

Perhaps Brandon could answer this one...

SwordSearcher is a set price point, the machine unknown price $$. When people ask me how can I get SS if using 🍎 products. I say that nowadays, almost any tablet, laptop, etc. (3-5 years old) running windows will work fine. So if they can get hold of a machine then only cost is SS software. Just be sure and let them know, ONCE PURCHASED, it stays with you!

SwordSearcher is Windows software. To use it on a Mac, you would need something like Parallels Desktop to run Windows software. You can find more information on Parallels Desktop here:

I am not affiliated with this software. I've been told by Mac users that it runs SwordSearcher on their Mac very nicely, but I cannot offer an explicit recommendation.

I am only able to provide support for SwordSearcher itself. I do not have a way of providing technical assistance related to the Mac operating system or Parallels. SwordSearcher can only be officially supported on Windows.

Thanks everyone! :)

That is a reference to: "In 1936, at Cambridge University, Turing invented the principle of the modern computer."
--> he killed himself (suicide for court order forbid him to be an homosexual.) with a bite in an apple with cyanide. It is mostly a reference to Turing.

Well, that certainly seems Satanic...

Actually, many of the "stories" behind Apple Computers are myths. The actual truth behind the Apple logo was the Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak visited an apple orchard, and Steve Jobs really liked apples and they decided to name the company Apple Computers. Of course, many things have transpired since, but as believers, SS9 users, and friends, we ought not say things that could hurt one's feelings.
